Sous Chef Job Description


Job Description Sous Chef. Sous Chef are a direct assistant to the Head Chef or Executive Chef. The Sue Chef is normally second in command and responsible all aspects of jobs in the kitchen and also act as deputies to the Head Chef. The Sous Chef will normally fill in for the Head Chef when the Head Chef is off duty.
The Sous Chefs job is to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and follows the procedures that are in place whilst leading by example.
Sous Chefs normally deal with all customer complaints and take hands on approach in running the kitchen. They supervise the junior members of the team including Commis Chefs and Chef de Partie whilst ensuring the quality and presentation off all dishes being presented.
It’s the job of the Sous Chef to encourage team work, team spirit and motivation whilst at the same time promoting a disciplined and professional atmosphere within the kitchen. They will have extensive knowledge of the preparation and cooking of all dishes through their hands on approach
