Silver Service Job Description
Job Description Silver Service Waiting. Silver Service waiting on is the way food is served to the customer. It is served in a different way to Plate Service and is normally found in Hotels, Restaurants and at Corporate Functions.
Silver Service staff will always report to the Banqueting Manager
Food is placed on a silver platter and served to the diner from the platter normally with a Silver Spoon and Fork.
No formal training is required to become a Silver Service Waiter or Waitress, however most employers prefer candidates with experience. Some employers will provide training either by holding training days or on the job training.
The attributes required of a Silver Service waiter or waitress as with Plate Service should have excellent customer service skills, will be polite and courteous and have the ability to work in a fast and demanding environment.
