Plate Service Waiter Job Description


Job Description Plate Service Waiting. Waiter and Waitress are normally the first members of staff the customer will meet in any establishment where food is served.
The customer depends on Waiting on Staff to make sure their food arrives on time and correctly presented. It's not the job of Plate Waiting on Staff or Silver Service to cook the food, this is done in the kitchen by Chef’s But it is the Plate Waiter’s job to plate the food and present it to the customer.
The customer may finish courses like soup or salads It is the duty of the Plate Waiter to ensure that empty dishes are removed along with used cutlery.
Plate Waiting on staff have other duties like greeting customers and seating them. And may even help prepare some of the foods like Soup, Starters or Salads.
All Waiting on Staff be it Plate Waiting, Silver Service Waiting or Wine Waiting should be courteous and polite encouraging customers to return.
Waiting on Staff are normally responsible to the Banquiting Manager, Chef or even the Head Chef. The Executive Chef does not normally get involved with Waiting on Staff and is more likely to be attending to the Chef’s under his control.
