Concierge Job Description. The Concierge plays a vital role in the daily operation of hotels and resorts.

The concierge is the main point of contact for hotel guests who need information or require assistance during their stay. The Concierge requires a passion and an understanding of the travel industry.

While a degree in hospitality is often required by employers, an in-depth knowledge of the local area is essential. The Concierge is often demanding position requiring excellent time Management and problem solving skills.

On a daily basis the concierge will interact with guests from varied backgrounds and all walks of life.

A pleasant personality is a requirement for a successful concierge position. Fluency in one or more foreign languages is also a distinct advantage.
