Chef Job Description. The Chefs job is at the centre of the catering industry. Jobs for the Chef will be widely diverse and would normally include a variety of rolls.
The job of the Chef would be overseeing that the products and food is delivered to the highest standard. It is also the Chefs job to motivate and train a variety of individuals within the kitchen environment including Commis Chefs, Kitchen Porters and trainee Chefs.
It is the Chefs job to be creative and be able to demonstrate skills in a variety of rolls, including budgets, ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly, encourage team work and moral, put forward a positive and pleasant working atmosphere.
You would also be a good problem solver and be able to communicate both written and verbally at all levels.
As a Chef of a busy kitchen you would normally be responsible to the Head Chef and you would be expected to take hands on approach and lead by example.
