Job Description Chef De Partie. The Chef de Partie is responsible for the running of a specific area of the kitchen and you will be responsible for managing a team.

The job of a Chef de Partie is a very important one in any kitchen and you would be normally be 3rd in command reporting to the Sous Chef and the Head Chef.

Unlike the Commis Chef this is not an entry level position and the Chef de Partie would normally have a lot of experience.

Chef de Partie roll would be responsible for all meals prepared in their section and would be knowledgeable within their own field. It is the Chef de Parties’ job to supervise and give orders to junior members of the team like the Commis Chef whilst still being answerable to the Head Chef and the Sous Chef.

Duties associated  with the Chef de Partie’s job is to manage the presentation, preparation and cooking of dishes, instructing and overseeing Chefs in their section in preparation, cooking, and presenting dishes, insuring health and hygiene standards are met sorting out any problems.
