Job Description Bar Manager. Being the Bar Manager is is a stressful and demanding job. As well as making sure that your customers are happy and satisfied, you also have to manage the bar and the staff, ensure that the required standards of hygiene and safety are maintained, deal with costing  and quality of the bar service. It is also the Bar Managers job to manage Bar Staff. You should also set a good example with regard to attendance, attitude, hygiene, and punctuality.

You will be responsible for the hiring of staff for the establishment including Bar Staff and in most cases you will also be responsible for the kitchen. You will need to implement Disciplinary procedures, and report all serious breaches to higher management. As the Bar Manager you will also need to implement staff training in methods and procedures of good customer service. As the Bar Manager you may even have to monitor and manage the inventory of food and beverages so that the required stock is delivered on time.

Bar Managers also manage the cash flow of the business and make sure that all the transactions are properly accounted for and recorded. You will also monitor profitability and performance and ensure all sales targets are met or exceeded.
