Job Description Banqueting Manager. The Banqueting Manager is the Commanding Officer of the establishment. They attend to all the functions, Staffing including Waiting on Staff, Cooks, Bar Staff, Kitchen Porters, Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales in fact everything to do with the function.
The Banqueting Manager must liaise with all who are involved in the running of the function to ensure that the function goes without incident. They live under an enormous amount of stress often moving and solving one disaster after another. They have to ensure that hundreds and sometime thousands of people leave the function pleased with everything.
Banqueting Managers have to interact with the Head Chef, Executive Chef, Chef de Partie, Pastry Chef, Head Housekeeper, Bar Manager, and Sommelier in fact just about every departmental head.
The Banqueting Managers Job is to arrange the hiring of staff from an Executive Chef to the Kitchen Porter, they not only have to ensure that sufficient staff are in place but the right staff are in place.
