Job Description Baker. The job of a Baker is to produce Bread, Pastries Cakes and other goods. Bakers could work in Bakery Shops, Supermarkets, Kitchens and large bakeries such as Allied Bakeries.
Bakers produce a variety of baked goods from measured ingredients and follow age old pre determined recipes. They also creatively decorate items like Cakes using brushes or spatulas.
Bakers follow age old recipes, however some bakers will produce recipes of their own but these are mainly Bakers working in small hotels and restaurants.
As well as general Baking most Bakers will peel and prepare fruit for pie fillings, mix icing and other toppings. They use a variety of tools including Rolling Pins, Electric Mixers and Cutting Tools.
